Temper Temper

Cael has entered the terrible three phase. We're talking whiny and crying at the drop of a hat. Taryn's temper tantrums involved some of that, but mostly I remember vividly the screaming that girl did. In fact, just remembering it gives me chills and makes me a bit anxious. It only happened a few times and she out grew it.  Luckily, it only happened at home. I'm eternally grateful to her for not making me carry a kicking and screaming child out of a public place.

The whining has been going for awhile with Cael. I've lost track of how many times I've told him that whining will not get him what he wants. In our house, if you whine or cry for something you don't get it. Apparently, this problem is going on at school as well with several children so I'm guessing it's the age.

Lately, Cael has started stomping and crossing his arms. He's even gone so far as to yell "Dat's not fair."

It looks something like this, only less cute.

I don't know how long this phase will last, but I'd be happy to see it go quickly. Especially the part where he yells "No Mommy" when I told him to put his toys away for dinner. He was less than happy when I confiscated his toys for that attitude. He's always so sorry when he's done with time out. Those big brown eyes full of tears are almost my undoing sometimes. Hopefully he learns quickly.
